| Gruth dhu crowdie |

| Is a log shaped soft cheese with a creamy, yet slightly sour taste introduced to the scots by the vikings. Gruth dhu is a blend of crowdie and double cream introduced recently by artisan cheese makers, the stone family. Gruth dhu means “black crowdie” black because it is rolled in toasted pinhead oats and black pepper to create a tasty twist on the traditional product. |

| From stongate village in east sussex, this is made with un-pasturised milk using traditional methods and made to the recipe of olde sussex cheese – a tangy creamy cheddar-type cheese. The garlic, cider and herbs are gently blended with the curd, so when the maturation of the cheese takes place, the added ingredients have time to infuse and disperse their distinctive zingy flavours.
